Hello! My name is Corey Williams and I am a lucky enough to be a photographer. I could use this space to tell you that I went to Harvard and have a degree in Fine Arts (I did, class of 1998 – where did the time go?) or that I got my first camera when I was ten and loved flash cubes (those things were awesome!), but instead I think I’ll tell you why I do what I do.
I love being part of and preserving great moments. Whether it’s the moment when a groom first sees his bride in her gown, the first time mom cradles her newborn, or a sunny afternoon flying kites at the park, these are the times of our lives. I treasure my role as both a documentarian and an artist. It is my hope that I'm helping families preserve memories for generations to come.
One thing you should definately know about me before we get started. I think that the process of making art together should be fun. I adore photographing happy people and together we will play. Sparkling little babies, couples captivated with one another, playful toddlers, giggling brides and chirpy teens. The process of working with me will be lively, playful and we will laugh and giggle a lot.
If I’ve done my job well, when you leave you’re happier than when we began. And when you see the images, you love them as much as you loved the experience of the shoot.
Every now and then I get asked about my gear. So, here it goes.
I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III and Mark II. I shoot with a selection of L series (that’s the good stuff!) prime lenses and a couple of zooms to catch those quick moments. I wear my cameras in a holster like a cowboy, which I could tell you saves my back, but really it just looks cool. There’s usually a squeaky toy attached to me somewhere to make babies smile at me. ☺
I am a member of PPA (Professional Photographers of America), the WPS (Wedding and Portrait Society) and I go to workshops and conventions to continue to hone my craft. I also read joke books so I can make your kiddos laugh.
I’ve been photographing kids, families and weddings for nearly seven years now. Sometimes, at the mall, kids run and jump on me with no warning. They’re getting bigger, so sometimes I fall down. I laugh a lot.
I have three kids of my own. They are overphotographed. ☺
I like country music, diet Coke and the early Italian Renaissance. I'm a sucker for a French Dip, cowgirl boots, and my big red pickup truck. I rarely watch television, but love to read. (I'm on my very last Phillipa Gregory novel and I'll be sad when it's over). I love to cook, love the state fair, and have been known to dance on my coffee table.
I want to learn more about you. So, don't be a stranger. Click that little email button at the top of the page. Or give me a ring. I'd love to hear from you.
